Morticia Knight Asks – Are Sex Club Members Bad LTR Prospects?

Hi everyone! I’m very excited to welcome Morticia Knight back to my blog. She has a spicy new release entitled Lust Emergency! Read on for her discussion about romance and an excerpt.

lustemergency_800Are Sex Club Members Bad LTR Prospects?

Jackson, the thirty-eight year-old ER doctor from my new MM erotic romance – Lust Emergency- wonders that exact thing. He’s only had one LTR, and that was with his partner Walter, who sadly died two years before. In his grief, he relocated to a new city, and has kept to himself, not dating, not allowing himself to consider any possibilities. Until now.

LTR’s are dicey things, yet they’re the subject of every single romance story – regardless of the genre. Sure – romance books are all about love – but loving someone and being able to maintain that relationship over a long period of time are two completely different things. I’m sure most of you can relate to that – I know it’s been all too true for me! So whenever I’m writing a new tale of two characters (or sometimes three or four *wink*), the best part of weaving that story is dealing with all of the dilemmas that come with forging a realistic LTR.

In the following excerpt, Terrence, the exotic paramedic that has sparked Jackson’s interest, is about to make a startling frank confession. Will this be a deal-breaker for the doctor?

“…Enough about me. What was it you wanted to say to  me?”

The look on Terrence’s face made Jackson’s stomach flutter a little, but not in a good way. He had that slight dread feeling that he might not like what he was about to hear.

Terrence let out a long sigh. “Yeah. So here’s the thing. I like you a lot. But since the thing with Cory, I haven’t wanted to get into any sort of one-on-one thing either. But I’m a big horn dog—really big horn dog.”

Jackson’s heart sank. “Are you saying that all you’re interested in is a sex thing?”

Terrence shook his head vehemently. “Oh, man, I knew I would fuck this up. Let me tell you everything first.”

“Of course, go ahead.”

“What I’m saying is that’s how I felt before, the way you have.” He chuckled a little. “I’m not saying I’m not horny as hell still, but I’m looking at my choices and behaviours, and rethinking what I want in life. And what I want now is something real, not just a playtime fuck. Which brings me to that club I was telling you about.”

“Oh?” Jackson had a bad feeling about where all of this was going.

“Yeah. You see, there’s this place in Phoenix called Sinsation”—Terrence shifted in his seat—“and it’s a, you know, uh, a sex club.” Terrence winced, and paused.

The place Dakota mentioned?

“Wow.” Jackson hadn’t been prepared to hear that, but he was trying to keep an open mind. “So… What exactly happens at this sex club?” His mind latched onto hundreds of different scenarios—none of them good.

“It’s primarily a gay hangout. And on the gay nights, I go there and drink, dance to some music, hang out with some friends I’ve made there…”

Jackson felt some relief. That wasn’t so bad. “That’s nothing. Why shouldn’t you go out and enjoy yourself? It’s not as if you’ve been with anyone.”

“Well, there’s more. Much more.”

Jackson had that sinking feeling again.

“Look, Doc, I don’t want you to think badly of me. But I think it’s important that I let it all hang out. I don’t want it to come back and bite me in the ass down the road, you dig?”

Terrence was trying to be honest, and that said something.

“I understand. You’re right. Go on.”

“Okay, so this is the thing. There’s this one guy named Marcus who has been—and I emphasise has been—my main fuck-buddy there.”

Jackson tried not to show any reaction to what Terrence was saying.

“And there is this downstairs area that you have to be a member of, or you can pay for a one-time visit… Well, anyway, that’s where everyone goes to get it on.”

“Get it on?”

“All right, I won’t sugar-coat it. Everyone fucks whoever they want. There are themed rooms and other…amenities such as a BDSM section. You can go there and hook up with whoever, and do whatever.”

It’s the ‘whatever’ that has me concerned.

“And this is safe?”

“That’s just it, Doc. That’s what attracted me to it. After the whole Cory thing, I was scared to go out with strangers. Everyone gets tested there regularly, we all use condoms, and there are bouncers to make sure nothing gets out of hand. Yes. I felt safe there.”

“And now how do you feel about it?”

Terrence buried his face in his hands, shaking his head. He looked back up at Jackson.

“It served a purpose for me, and I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t have a good time—a great time even. But I have different priorities now, and I really want to let go of that lifestyle, and get with one man that I can share my life with. I learned my lesson with Cory. Having an open relationship doesn’t work. But I’m done with all of that now. I swear.”

Jackson didn’t know what to say. He couldn’t picture himself in a million years going to a place like that, but was it his place to judge someone who did? And Terrence had sworn he was done with that lifestyle and that club. Could he believe him?

“Do I disgust you?”

Terrence looked so sad, and Jackson frowned. “Of course not. Come here.” Jackson held his arms open. “Can I hold you?”

“Oh, thank you for understanding,” Terrence said with obvious relief, and collapsed in Jackson’s embrace.

They held each other in silence, and Jackson inhaled Terrence’s scent. It was musky with a hint of vanilla. Sweet and delectable. He found himself stroking Terrence’s back, and considered how much courage it must have taken the young man to open up to him. He lowered his head and nuzzled Terrence’s neck, holding him tighter with a sense of urgency. He grabbed the tip of Terrence’s earlobe with his lips and suckled it into his mouth. Terrence arched into him and moaned. Jackson poked his tongue into Terrence’s ear, teasing it, whilst he used his hands to squeeze and caress Terrence’s body. The young man touched him in return, sliding his hands along Jackson’s loose pants to stroke his thighs. When Terrence bent his head back to give Jackson more access to his throat, he kept his tongue in motion, lapping at Terrence, hungry with his desire.

He stopped to cradle the back of Terrence’s head, and looked into his eyes. He latched onto Terrence’s mouth, kissing him deeply, delighting in how wonderful he tasted. Terrence enthusiastically gave back, drawing first one lip, then another of Jackson’s into his own mouth. The heat built between them, and Jackson was incredibly hard, wanting urgently to just let go. Terrence slid a probing hand up the inside of Jackson’s thigh, and Jackson knew Terrence was just about to find out how turned on he really was. Jackson abruptly pulled away.

Terrence looked stricken. “What’s wrong?”

Jackson slowed his breathing that had been building with his desire. “Nothing’s wrong. I just don’t know if I’m ready…”

Malia Welcomes Morticia Knight with Arresting Behaviour

arrestingbehaviour_800Today I have Morticia Knight chatting on the blog about her new release Arresting Behaviour. Just look at that yummy cover!

*****

Hi Malia – Thank you for having me back at your blog! I’m here to talk a little bit about what goes in to writing a series where it’s not the same main characters all the way through. We all know that Ana and Christian are the only MC’s in Fifty Shades, and every time you finish one book, you’re ready to “buy now with 1-click” to get to the rest of the story. I have nothing against serializations – it’s great to stay with the same characters and worlds, but it had been a while since I’d read a series that was set in the same town and with a similar theme.

In my Uniform Encounters series, each book involves men in uniform. There are firemen, a detective, ER doctor and paramedic. Yummy! But each book focuses on the relationships between two different main characters. I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say that everyone gets a chance to meet up again in the final installment. I enjoyed writing a series this way though, because it gave me the chance to look at the lives of several different characters in similar professions, living in the same city, and dealing with the same issues. Each one handles their life and loves in different ways, so it was a challenge, but also very fulfilling.

Arresting Behaviour – Book 2 in the series – just came out last week, and has already hit the All Romance and Amazon Bestseller lists, and I am super excited about it. I think it’s because the explosive chemistry and sexual tension between these two men just clicked for me. I also love a good murder mystery, and so I went all out for this one. Read on for a little taste of my boys.

Blurb:

Native American Quinn and Detective Jake come from two opposing worlds. But when opposites attract, the result is explosive.

The Bondage Butcher has just claimed his third victim, and newly promoted homicide detective Jake Gutierrez is anxious to speak to the one man who has been intimate with all three victims—Quinn Verdugo. The reclusive and mysterious artist and poet stays just out of Jake’s grasp, until one night when they catch him trespassing at his ancestor’s ancient ruins.

Quinn is devastated by the recent murders, and for the men he once dallied with. Not trusting his heart to anyone since a cruel rejection in his teens, he trusts the police department of Mesa, Arizona even less. He is determined to find the bastard who is committing these gruesome murders, and take care of things himself.

When Jake and Quinn finally meet face to face in the interrogation room, both men are startled at the direction things take. Agreeing to work together, they have no idea the dangers they have yet to face. But what is more dangerous – the murderer, or the spark that has been created between the two very combustible men.

Excerpt:

He was in dangerous territory by staying alone with the man at his place. There couldn’t be any nonsense going on between them. Besides, Quinn hadn’t exactly invited him over, he had just barged his way in. Now he was feeling foolish. Had he overstepped his boundaries? It was just that he’d been so upset when Quinn had told him about the previous night—a knot of fear had settled in his stomach at the thought of that sick bastard being alone with Quinn, touching him, getting ready to do God-knows-what.

He would be completely professional. He was only there to keep watch. That was it.

It was going to be a long night.

He also needed to head to the station early in the morning to make sure that the whole poetry night sting was set, and brief the lieutenant on his progress. Plus, he had to follow up on the list Quinn had given him of previous partners. He couldn’t just remain glued to Quinn’s side, even if that did seem like a nice idea.

Down boy.

He could feel a stirring in his jeans, and wasn’t sure all the resolve in the world would help him if he were to arrive at Quinn’s place with a hard-on.

They got there ten minutes later, and Jake felt he had himself under control. It was a gorgeous starry night, and he marvelled at the display in the sky this far out from the city lights. That was one of his favourite things about the desert—everything seemed much purer out there.

He jumped out of his truck as Quinn languidly got out of his car then walked towards him. He had the briefest sensation the man was going to punch him or something, because his pace quickened and he moved with such intent. The light from the waning full moon illuminated Quinn’s graceful and sexy form as he drew nearer. Just as he got to him, Quinn reached out, grabbed the back of Jake’s head and clamped his mouth onto Jake’s lips.

His breath was startled right out of him, but all he could do was melt against Quinn’s muscled body, and reach up to twine his fingers in the man’s glorious mane of hair. This was exactly what he wasn’t supposed to be doing, but all reason and sanity had disappeared once Quinn had locked lips with his.

There was nothing polite or reserved in the kiss. It was raw and feral, and everything Jake had dreamt it would be. They used their hands everywhere on each other’s body, as Quinn continued to plunder Jake’s mouth. He felt himself being guided towards Quinn’s front door. At some point, Quinn managed to get it open—no lock as he’d said—and they stumbled inside, still tangled up with each other. Quinn kept pushing Jake farther in, and he began to feel the smallest stirrings of concern.

It’s not right. I shouldn’t—not yet.

Author Morticia Knight Talks Love and Acceptance Along With New Release, Set Ablaze

setablaze_800I’m so pleased to welcome Morticia Knight to the blog! She has great story featuring firefighters! I read the excerpt…loved it. Check it out below.

*****

In my new book, “Set Ablaze”, Fire Chief Eric is coming out of the closet after twenty years of marriage. He’s been raised conservatively, and he’s never had any male relationships. He’s certainly never been out in the open about his sexual preferences. However, once he told his wife, she shouted it all over the town. He’s had no choice but to face varying degrees of acceptance, combined with downright hostility. When he meets the new recruit, Tom, he’s confused over how to handle his feelings, and what constitutes appropriate romantic behavior when courting a man. Throw in a spate of arson fires, and Eric is under a lot of pressure. Will it prevent him from seeking love with Tom, the sexy new firefighter?

I like Eric, and I definitely enjoyed writing him. He doesn’t curse, he’s respectful, and when he crosses sexual boundaries at work he is mortified by his own behavior. What is interesting to me is that so many people want to judge someone over their sexual preference as opposed to their actions, yet some of these same people do plenty of other things that are morally reprehensible. Such as holding hate in their hearts. And when I talk about sexual preferences – I don’t just mean whether someone identifies as gay – hetero couples who engage in responsible BDSM practices are judged as well, along with all other manner of expressions of love.

The recent outpouring of support with people changing their avatars at Facebook has been very heartening. I know I’m not going to change anyone’s outlook in a simple blog post, or even in one book. But the more authors, artists, filmmakers, musicians and others who contribute to the ideal of love healing all – the more of a chance we all have of finding love and acceptance.

The following is an excerpt from Set Ablaze when Eric finally signs the divorce papers from his twenty year marriage:

*****

Eric put his signature on the last of the divorce settlement papers, and slowly—almost reverently—put them back in the envelope. He would give them back to Charlene in the morning.

“Why don’t we wait?” he had pleaded with her. “Matthew will be headed to ASU in the fall. Can’t we just keep our family together for a little while longer?”

“Fuck you, Eric,” was all she’d had to say.

After twenty years of marriage and raising a wonderful son, that was all he warranted, a ‘fuck you’? He wanted to punch their marriage counsellor in the face. The counsellor had been the one who had encouraged ‘complete and open honesty, no matter how it might hurt’. Yeah. Great. Telling his wife he was, and always had been, swinging for the same team had been a wonderful move. That had really worked out well. She’d initiated the divorce proceedings that night, but not before she’d accused him of a countless number of things that were absolutely not true. She’d slapped him, saying that she’d have to get screened for ‘gay diseases’, and that she knew that he’d been cheating on her all those years. She’d even started accusing some of his straight friends of being his secret lovers.

“I knew it!” she’d screeched at him. “My mom warned me from the beginning! All those camping and fishing trips! Just excuses to go away with your boyfriends, just like in that stupid movie!”

His head had been spinning. She had yelled so many outrageous things. There had been one affair in high school that he’d thought he’d hidden well, but Charlene’s brother knew about it and had blabbed to her parents. Being young and scared, he’d lied and told her none of it was true. He couldn’t tell her the truth. She never would have married him. The unfortunate reality was that he never should have married her—it had been wrong to mislead her the way he had. He had never been attracted to women, but he came from a family that would have had a fit and cast him out if he hadn’t married and led a ‘normal’ life. How could he regret his son, though? He didn’t, and he actually really did love Charlene, just not in the way she needed and deserved.

Yes, it was the right thing to do ultimately. Maybe the asshole counsellor had been on point after all. Sighing, he put the envelope in his desk drawer, and focused his mind back on the other issues he was dealing with. He had a firefighter out with a broken ankle, and a temporary replacement coming in. He also had a meeting with the arson investigators at four o’clock—just fifteen minutes away—to discuss their latest findings on the arson fires that had been plaguing the town recently.

Erotic Romance author Morticia Knight enjoys a good saucy tale, whether it is contemporary, paranormal, historical, ménage, M/M or BDSM – she loves it all! One of her passions is bringing people’s fantasies to life on the page, because life is too short for even one boring moment. Her stories are volcanic in heat, deep in emotion, and sprinkled with doses of humor. When not indulging in her passion for books, she loves the outdoors, film and music. Once upon a time she was the singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. Her three-book series called Uniform Encounters set in the Southwest will be available in 2013, and she is currently working on a steampunk horror ménage.

Join Malia Mallory and Morticia Knight for A Spirit of Love and Chi-chi’s!

Today I’m welcoming Morticia Knight to the blog. She’s been kind enough to bring along not only a super spicy excerpt from her book, A Spirit of Love, but also a fun recipe for chi-chi’s! Please enjoy!

*****

Hi Malia – thank you so much for letting me hi-jack your blog today! I have to say, I had an awesome Halloween, even though the scariest thing we did was watch horror movies. This year’s line-up included the original Psycho and Halloween 1 and 2. I tried to stay awake for the midnight showing of the silent film, Nosferatu (a must –have for the hubby), but I’ll confess we drank a few chi-chis, and I passed out. Stay tuned to the end of the excerpt, and I will give you my chi-chi recipe!

However, one of these Halloweens, I want to plan ahead and go to someplace that’s famously haunted – like a bed & breakfast or the Stanley Hotel (where Stephen King got his inspiration for The Shining), and try and capture EVP (ghost voices) or something eerie on film. I have had luck capturing some voices before when I went to a local historical cemetery, and when I worked at a location with strange occurrences – but it would be a blast to make a trip out of it! Is there anywhere you’ve ever been that’s famously haunted that you could recommend? Let me know!

My newest release from Total-E-Bound is an MMF ménage that centers around the relationship of three paranormal investigators who have a bit of a checkered past with one another. As they say – it’s complicated. The irony is that the three of them are perfect for one another in so many ways – if only they could get beyond all of those nasty feelings of guilt and betrayal. Will a decidedly kinky ghost help them out?

A Spirit of Love

Blurb: Two men and one ex-girlfriend. Can a lovelorn and kinky ghost help these three paranormal investigators find true love with each other?

She was becoming moist, so she switched on the Rabbit. She continued to picture how he would thrust his tongue in her pussy, squeeze and knead her ass cheeks, sometimes licking her back hole too. She had just inserted the vibrator when Emilio’s face popped into her fantasy. Did Martin do that to him too? Lick his asshole? Did he put his dick there and fuck him with the force that he used to fuck her? Did he like sucking on Emilio’s cock?

She shut off the vibrator. The scenes were hot, stimulating, but she was no longer part of them. This was ridiculous. She would never have an orgasm again because, even in her fantasies, Martin and Emilio left her out.

Wait a minute. This is my fantasy and I can do whatever the hell I want. And I want to be included!

She switched the Rabbit back on. She let Martin continue to suck on Emilio’s cock, but this time she joined in. In her fantasy, they both knelt before the sultry Emilio and worshiped his prick, sharing it between them, their fingers on each other’s genitals at the same time. Emilio’s cock went in one, then the other’s mouth, or even sometimes they had their mouths on either side at the same time. Martin rubbed his fingers through her drenched folds while she grasped Martin’s dick and stroked it up and down.

She let her mind go free, and now she was sucking a walnut-sized nut sac into her mouth while Martin deep-throated Emilio. Emilio was pumping his cock into Martin’s mouth faster and faster, sometimes making him gag, and Martin was rubbing and flicking her clit with amazing agility and speed. She grasped the base of Martin’s cock just as Emilio squirted his release into Martin’s mouth, and Sophie yelled out her own orgasm loudly.

She pulled the vibrating toy from her pussy and shut it off. It had done the job, to a degree. Now that she’d released all of that pent-up frustrated energy, she was disgusted with herself. Throwing the newly purchased sex aid across the room, she couldn’t believe that she was coming to a fantasy of not only the guy who had cheated on her, but his current male lover as well. They were haunting her like one of the spirits she channelled for her clients.

Only these guys weren’t ghosts, they were very real. And very hard to exorcise.

Morticia Knight’s chi-chi recipe:

Ingredients: A bottle of Pina Colada mix, vodka, fresh pineapple cubes and shredded coconut.

Mix ½ cup colada mix, 1 ½ cups ice, and 1 shot of vodka into blender. Add 4 or 5 pineapple chunks and a tablespoon of coconut shreds. Blend for 10 – 15 seconds. Pour into a cool tall glass or coconut shaped mugs, and garnish with a maraschino cherry (that’s the nipple – *wink*) For you virgins: omit vodka, and add a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt or ice cream instead – yum!
