My post today is about sex on the beach. Please share your tips!

Top Five Tips for Sex on the Beach

You know, Dear Readers, sex on the beach is more than just an alcoholic beverage. Sex on the beach can be a wonderfully romantic adventure or an exercise in chaotic hilarity. In no particular order, here are my tips for planning your sensual rendezvous on the sand.

1. Privacy. Trust me on this one. There are few things more detrimental to the romantic mood than unexpected and unwanted guests. Pick a remote spot or a time when you will have your selected area to yourself (e.g. at night).

2. Blanket. Be sure to bring a blanket or beach towel. The sand might be lovely to walk through in bare feet, but it is quite unfriendly to certain delicate areas.

3. Shade/Sunscreen. If your interlude is planned for the daytime, you will definitely want to make sure you either find a handy palm tree or bring a beach umbrella. Sunscreen will be an absolute must for those areas inside the tan lines.

4. Hydration. There is nothing like hot sunlight and physical activity to make a person parched. A dry tongue is not conducive to kissing or other intimate activities. Not only that, some nice icy water could bring a little spice to the encounter.

5. Wildlife. Believe it or not, when the humans vacate the beach, the wildlife returns. Nothing douses the flames of desire quite like a crab claw attaching itself to your toe. Watch out for crabs, turtles and other beachcombers. It’s really their beach, we just get to borrow it now and again.

Don’t forget, please share your thoughts! Would you like a story that includes some sex on a beach? Sign up for my mailing list and receive a free copy of B is for Beach from The ABCs of Erotica.

Let me tell you privacy is a big one! When my husband, some friends and I spent the night on the beach (we were teenagers by the way) My husband and I found our spot away from everyone else and started to get busy. Well there was only one problem, your not suppose to sleep on the beach and a police man was kind enough to let us know. Needless to say a fun time turned into an embarrassing time.

Sex on the beach… that would require a beach, right? Living in land-locked Alberta, we have a handful of lakes with sandy beaches and that’s it. I’ve never had sex outdoors due to the short summers and biting insects. Yuck. I hope one day to take your list on a vacation somewhere and indulge!

I’ll keep beach sex in the books unless I can be in one of the fancy cabana’s that you see on TV that sounds great and no sand in senisitive places.

Thanks for participating in the hop!

I think sex on the beach is better in books than in reality I don’t like sand in my swimsuit let alone with out one. mawmom(@)

Even with a blanket, there’s still too much sand. I’d prefer a tent on the beach…or a lovely house on the beach!

  28. Sex on the beach sounds wonderful and fun, but I’d prefer to be in a cabana by the beach. Makes things easier and I am NOT a fan of sand getting in delicate places. Especially when my OCD starts saying how dirty the sand is… Anyways, thanks for participating and for the tips!

  29. Christine said:

Make sure you’ll be able to shower after – the saltwater won’t do to get rid of any sand. It’ll dry on your skin & feel icky.

Great tips. I would still be leery due to the sand….you know how that stuff ends up everywhere when you go to the beach.

Great tips! I prefer sex in the water to sex on the beach. Easier to disguise what you’re doing! Thanks for the giveaway!

  32. Thanks for the giveawa, and for the tips!

  33. I like the tips. i always forget the water. O_o

  34. Sex on the beach…great to read, but the aftermath of where sand ends up…argh!

  35. Thanks for the tips and giveaway.

  36. Well, I definitely make sure to get a blanket that’s pretty long and wide. Sand has a way of getting into places where sand didn’t even touch!

If you get a towel, get a large one annd not a regular sized one. It won’t be big enough for one person lying still, let alone two people moving around, doing anything…we’ll say vigorous!

  37. I never really liked the idea of sex on the beach but who knows! 😉 Thanks for sharing and for the fun hop! And thank you for the awesome giveaway!
