So, what makes an alpha hero dangerous? Is it danger to the heart and emotions? Is it literal physical danger? Maybe the hero is a spy….or a police officer? Is it just an aura of confidence and an ability to handle whatever comes along? You tell me 
Most of my stories have alpha type heroes. For the most part, what is at stake is the heart.
In my Mia’s Cop Craving series, the hero is a police officer named Rogan. He is definately a danger to Mia’s heart…but in the best possible way! Please enjoy the excerpt below.
Excerpt from Mia’s Cop Craving
“What happens next?” He wanted to hear the details.
“Well, it varies. Sometimes I’m restrained.”
“Like this?” He grabbed her wrists and stretched her arms out over her head, holding both wrists with one hand. With is other hand he roamed her body at will, stroking, caressing her soft skin.
Mia gasped and shivered. “Yes . . . sometimes he uses his hands. Sometimes he uses . . . other things.”
Rogan nibbled her ear. “What other things?”
“Well, handcuffs.”
“Really? Mmmm and what about you Mia? Do you want me to use handcuffs?”
Mia swallowed hard. Was she going to go for it? Yes. She nodded and Rogan let her go and got off the bed. He reached for his pants and the leather duty belt. He flipped open the handcuff case and removed the shiny, silver rings. He held them out for her inspection.
She nodded again, surrendering herself.
He opened the cuffs and crossed to her. “You have the perfect headboard for this.” He threaded the cuffs around one of the decorative metal bars. He took one hand and then the other closing the cuff around each of her delicate, narrow wrists in turn.
As the metal clicked shut, Mia trembled. Though she felt an innate sense of trust toward Rogan, she was truly at his mercy now.

I like my alpha heroes to have some ambivalence to them – like not having a strong sense of right or wrong. I often think of this as chaotic good and for the reader this means never quite knowing what the hero will do in the story.
