Mia rinsed thoroughly and stepped from the shower, Rogan wrapped her in a fluffy towel. Her knees felt weak and she reached out a hand to his shoulder to steady herself. Jeff came up behind her and brushed her hair aside as he leaned forward to kiss and nibble on her neck. He zeroed right in on her erogenous areas.

Mia broke from their embrace and headed to the bedroom. Both men followed close behind her. When she reached the side of the bed, she turned around to face them with an inquiring glance.

Rogan spoke first. “Mia, I have a suggestion of where to start.”

What Kind of Hero Do You Prefer – Angel or Demon?

Lately, readers have a wide array of choices when it comes to romance and erotica sub-genres. Every flavor of paranormal romance from werewolves to vampires and angels to demons is available. In fact, there are so many entertaining and well-written stories, it’s hard to choose.

Since our blog hop addresses angels and demons, let’s narrow our focus to those archetypes. A demon would seem to be the classic bad boy alpha male. Bad boys can be very enticing, as they tend to have strong personalities and a lot of attitude.

On the flipside is our angel. Like any other hero, he has inner strength. He is characterized by his code of honor and his actions.

These are just two possible interpretations. What would you choose – angel or demon? What would be his defining characteristic?

Excerpt from WIP – Clockwork Caning (unedited)

Nigel’s fingers moved to her coiffure and he began to remove her hairpins one by one, dropping them on the cushion. Soon her hair tumbled down in thick waves over her shoulders and back.

Nigel’s thumbs trailed lightly over Eloise’s cheekbones. “You are so very lovely.” He cupped her jaw in his hand and leaned in. This time when his lips met hers, Eloise was prepared for the jolt. She opened her lips and invited him inside. Nigel accepted the invitation and plunged his tongue deep in her mouth.

Eloise moaned. The feelings that Nigel was inciting in her body were new and unfamiliar but not unwelcome. Why had no one told her? She could only suspect that this knowledge, if freely available, would lead even more couples to anticipate their marriage vows. If she had known before that Nigel could make her feel like this, she surely could not have resisted the temptation.

Nigel pulled back and Eloise protested with a sound of distress. “Don’t worry, my dear, I simply want to introduce you to another delight.”

Experience or Imagination?

Hi! My name is Ella Jade and I’m thrilled to be here today.  Thanks for having me.

When I tell friends, family or people who ask what I do for a living that I’m an author of erotic fiction they often seem surprised. They’re always like, “Really? You write what?” The biggest question I’m asked about my chosen profession is…

Do I write from personal experience?

I’d love to say YES! My sex life is just as hot as the pages in my books. Lol I’m not saying I’m a prude or my husband is lacking anything. But I will say, I just don’t have that much time in my life for that much research.

I’m a stay-at-home mom most days, a full-time writer, V.P. of the PTO and I substitute teach a few times a month. I’m a busy girl, so when it comes time to write those steamy scenes I rely heavily on my imagination. Several of my books contain BDSM themes but I don’t participate in that lifestyle so I have no firsthand knowledge. I do as much research as I can but when it comes time for me to develop characters and set up the plot I just write what I define as sexy or appropriate for that particular scene. I want to stimulate the reader and have them get lost in my words. When I’m writing, I want to forget about reality for a few hours and indulge in fantasy.

Obviously, romance plays a huge part in all of my books. I like to create strapping, sexy and dominant heroes but they also have to be flawed. Character growth and redemption are always present in my novels. A good friend once told me, “Not everyone is all good, or all bad.” I use those words to develop strong characters that can grow, accept change and be emotionally invested in their partners. Once I develop my characters and establish their emotional connection the rest is easy and steamy and sexy and erotic…

At the end of the day, I guess I can say I write from personal experience. Maybe not in the way most think an erotic author should, but experience none the less. I observe life, people, emotions, relationships and love. And maybe on occasion I might say to my husband, “Wanna try chapter three tonight?”

A Love Stolen is book one in the Steeple Town Series. This is a three book series that introduces the reader to a trio of best friends who all find love. Each book will focus on one of the women and the other two will play prominent roles throughout the story. The novellas can stand alone and can be read in any order the reader chooses.

A Love Stolen features estranged lovers Lila and Trevor.

Top Five Tips for Sex on the Beach

You know, Dear Readers, sex on the beach is more than just an alcoholic beverage. Sex on the beach can be a wonderfully romantic adventure or an exercise in chaotic hilarity. In no particular order, here are my tips for planning your sensual rendezvous on the sand.

1. Privacy. Trust me on this one. There are few things more detrimental to the romantic mood than unexpected and unwanted guests. Pick a remote spot or a time when you will have your selected area to yourself (e.g. at night).

2. Blanket. Be sure to bring a blanket or beach towel. The sand might be lovely to walk through in bare feet, but it is quite unfriendly to certain delicate areas.

3. Shade/Sunscreen. If your interlude is planned for the daytime, you will definitely want to make sure you either find a handy palm tree or bring a beach umbrella. Sunscreen will be an absolute must for those areas inside the tan lines.

4. Hydration. There is nothing like hot sunlight and physical activity to make a person parched. A dry tongue is not conducive to kissing or other intimate activities. Not only that, some nice icy water could bring a little spice to the encounter.

5. Wildlife. Believe it or not, when the humans vacate the beach, the wildlife returns. Nothing douses the flames of desire quite like a crab claw attaching itself to your toe. Watch out for crabs, turtles and other beachcombers. It’s really their beach, we just get to borrow it now and again.

Her bare feet gripped the cool, textured tiles. Deliciously warm water streamed over her skin and Grace laughed—delighted.
